A SUPER day of skating

Super Bowl Sunday involved more pucks than pigskin at the rink, as we had our best skating day of the year.  The ice was near-perfect, as RJ and I were joined by my dad, my cousin Matt, his son Brady, and my buddy Dan.  At one point it was just the three guys on the ice, as our wives watched from the house and giggled something about our “glory days”.  I won’t dispute, as the three of us patrolled the city rinks for West High in the late 90’s, with Dan and me serving as captains in ’97-’98.  It had been quite a while since we’d been on the same sheet, and we had a great time.   These are the days that make the rink worth the work, though I’m not sure I’ll be able to walk tomorrow…
