Johan from Stockholm

Got the idea a few weeks ago that I should try to make some ice for my son, who is just starting to learn to skate. I have played hockey most of my life and still plays in a veteran league, so naturally I hope that he will love it as much is I do. No guarantees though :).

However, After checking out Google I started in a humble scale with a ice surface of 6m*4m.
Made a frame and placed a tarp and then got a little bit premature with the water. Some -1c degrees and snowfall put some bumps in the ice but now 5 days later with some gentle adding of water and smoothing out the worst bumps the ice was ready for his first skate. Because we usually have drive for 20 minutes to get to some ice he was very happy to have some in the backyard.

I suspect that this wont be my last ice, we are already making plans for next year's surface.
