First time builder:
- 4' Boards wrapping one end.
- 2x12 (sistered on one side) for perimeter (19" deep in one corner!)
- Corners with painted tops
- Red duct tape to define borders
- Light pole painted to mimic Blackhawks home uniform socks (red paint and black and white duct tape)
- Hand built/painted Hawks logo
- Hand built painted signs, pond goals (my kid's names) and rebounder
- Outdoor spigot converted to add hot water - a godsend!
In one pic you can kinda see the neighbor's rink across the open area. And yes, the frozen pond you see behind the house? We've skated on it a bunch. Shoveling a rink? Not so bad. Shoveling a pond? Suckage!
Already planning bigger and bolder for next year!
