Question about filling

We are putting the liner down first thing tomorrow morning and want to start filling. My questions is should be hold off due to temperature? The 7 day forecast is mid to low 30's most of the week, then 48 by Thursday, then back to mid 30's. It will be in the 20's all week durning the evening. The deepest part of the rink will be around 10-13" inches. Should we fill the whole rink or do it in layers? Also, which is the best way to fill, garden hose or have a water service truck fill it in 20min? Sorry about all the questions at once, just excited to get the kids on the ice!! Thanks everyone!

Here are my answers:

-I'd wait to fill. You invite risk when you fill and it's not cold enough to freeze, and it doesn't sound like it's quite cold enough in your area yet. 20's might do it, but it will be undone by the 48 day and the mid-30's won't do you any favors either. I always feel like if we're in late December and those are the temps we're getting, then fill because you assume it'll get cold in January. But if it's mid-December like it is now, I'd wait.

-Always fill all at once. Don't do layers.

-I get a fill truck, but it's because I'm on a well and don't want to wait 2 days for it to fill. Mostly personal preference...neither fill method impacts the rink functionality.

Thanks for the info, waiting makes the most sense. I feel like I'm checking the weather app hourly hoping for it to drop, lol! This is the first year I can't wait for the cold weather! Thanks for your help!
