To Fill or not to Fill

I was wondering if there was anyone else out there in Central MA. I was Looking at the 10 Day outlook and it looks like we might have a good window to fill this weekend. However I have heard we could be getting a "plowable storm" at the tail end of the weekend. I am thinking of waiting to get past the snow any thoughts?

Thanks

I'm up in NH and I'm on the hook to fill 20 or so rinks. We filled a bunch early in the week, one an hour ago, and one more tomorrow. The bitter cold is great.

That said, I'm waiting on all the rest because of this snow event. The biggest pain is significant snow right after a fill, so unless you can get the liner in today or early tomorrow and fill, I'd wait. It's easier to snowblow your rink frame and drop a liner down after a snow than it is to fill, and only have 2-3" and then get dumped on. The fill I'm doing tomorrow, I explained this risk to him and he wants to move forward...hopefully he makes ice fast or the snowstorm is less than anticipated.

I'm in the same boat here. Was hoping to lay the liner in tomorrow or the day after and fill, but the forecast is saying we're getting a decent sized snowfall Sunday. I guess I'll wait, shovel out the rink on sunday night, and lay down the liner and fill late sunday night or monday evening.

The good news is the day after the storm, on Monday, my weather here in NH shows a high of 21 and low of 1. If you can get that snow out of the frame and drop the liner, them's some ice-making temps.

This is exactly the same thing I was wondering. We're looking at 4–8" in NW Connecticut on Saturday night. I could fill tonight, but I doubt I would have enough ice to get out there and shovel on Sunday. Snow would probably wreck the ice surface after it froze anyway. Probably better to wait till the storm passes, shovel out the rink and fill Sunday.
