Agree as usual with Kevin. After your first good skating party or snowstorm and subsequent shovel, you'll have the opaque white ice like everyone else. Also, unless you filled with the sludge from the river bottom, I wouldn't worry about the sun attraction. Heck, look at the gross color of your local pond or lake from above...and that freezes, right?
I hear the paint trick a lot on these (and other) boards...and I can't even imagine the mess that would make at drain time. Either you'd be draining paint into your yard or a sewer, neither of which can be a good thing. I've heard milk too...but honestly, just skate a lot and it'll be white for the balance of the year.
