What is the most wind you have installed a new liner with success? I bought a new liner as my liner is in bad shape and I have lost too much water in this thaw. I am down to the liner in more than half the rink now. The winds are forecasted to be pretty strong all week. Today and tomorrow is way to windy but Tuesday may be better.

I don't have an answer for you. But I just installed my first liner today. It's wicked windy out and it gave me a really hard time. I have bricks holding down the liner so it won't fly away.

On this topic, I have a question for the forum - can I fill a liner that's not perfectly smooth? Does it matter? Or should I wait for the winds to die down, walk around and smooth out the liner and THEN fill it?

I'd wait if it's windy. It's not that you'll damage anything, but a liner that might take 15 minutes to lay out in the calm could take more than an hour with wind. I'd had to do that and it sucks.

As for folds and creases, I don't usually worry unless it's in my shallow areas - meaning you wouldn't want a 5" fold sticking up in an area where you only planned to have 4" of water. But I'm not really a stickler for a perfectly flat liner. Once you skate or it snows, the ice will be opaque anyways.
