I'd like to say hello to everyone here. I've ben monitoring this site for a while now and I'm finally going to put my research to work. I bought a home in central NJ a little over a year ago and this year I plan to build my first backyard rink this winter. I'm not sure that the winters get cold enough here for a full season of ice, but if i can get 3-4 weeks out of it, it will be worth it for me.

I look forward to participating on these forums and I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions throughout the season so thanks in advance to everyone that helps me out!

Also, if anyone on here is involved in the Bryant Park Big Apple Pond Hockey Tournament, look for me this year, my team is the Purple Parrots.

I've never been down to Bryant Park but I've had lots of good conversations with Grant Hewit, the organizer. Someday I'll get down there to check it out, sounds like a great event!
