Need ideas/experience builders help with rink

Specifically, how do you join two 6 mil thick plastic sheeting together to make a watertight seem. My rink is 38x 70 and I need two pieces of plastic sheeting joined together right? Last year I tried to use the water weight to seal the seam which did not work well. Thanks in advance for any help.
