I'm sure it is frustrating - MI seems to be getting the worst of this crappy winter. This is going to sound ridiculous, but I'd *mentally* throw in the towel without actually going outside and tearing anything down. Tell yourself there'll be no skating this year and stop looking out your window. Last year we skated until March 1 in NH...so that's exactly 6 weeks from tonight. Who knows...call winter's bluff and maybe it'll get cold enough for some February skating. Because one thing's for sure...I'm never taking December skating for granted again, and we're finding all sorts of time to get on the rink on the rare day it's ready for us. Keeping my son home from school, skating at night, big skating parties...when mother nature takes the rink away, we jump all over it when she gives it back. I'm crossing my fingers for you.
