Using pool water to fill your rink?

I'm about ready to put my liner in and fill my rink for the first time.
My pool is about 8 feet from the rink, I was thinking of using some pool water to fill the rink and save on the water bill. Is this a bad idea?
I'm wondering if the chemicals in the pool will prevent me from getting good ice.

Nah, you should be fine. My pool water freezes so I assume yours would too. Although I typically lower the water level in my pool and cover it months before rink season.

And, I do the reverse in the spring - put the rink water in the pool.
