Thanks folks! I trolled the site all last year (finally registered) and love the content and the great feedback from everyone! Scrambled to build the rink 2 days before we went below freezing in early december, never dreamed we'd be skating into late March here in Southeast Michigan. Here's hoping for another long cold one...

Thanks for the recommendation! I went with the 4 500x work lights as pictured in the other posts and the lighting is dramatically improved! Mounting to tree, house, playscape was a breeze!

I used the method described in this blog, and it has worked beautifully. Just wanted to add this here in case someone is looking for an alternative to the halogens. I used halogens my first year, but would never go back after constructing and using my new lights. I've got 6, and am currently building two more as my rink is larger this year.
