I have used the exact same halogen lights for several seasons and I never had the glass break from temperatures. I dropped one on the ice once and it smashes every where but that was me fumbling the ball.
I replaced all my lights this year and the last thing I am worried about is the glass cracking under severe temperatures - and it gets pretty cold. The one thing you need to watch though is any snow/ice sitting on the light will melt and might drip onto your ice surface making a bump.
