Don't think about it and let it sit until it freezes. Once frozen, scrape the snow off that's remaining and resurface until it's a nice smooth sheet of ice.

Patience you say, something I don't have, but am working on it. I haven't touched it yet most of the snow has melted except for a few feet in from the edges all the way around. Temps for the next few days are going to be a bit above freezing during the day and just below at night. Not looking like skate time soon. Kids are bummed. Guess we will hop on the snowmobiles this weekend instead.

Waited till most the snow was melted then shoveled off the edges. Not sure what kind of ice you call it, but all around edges 2' in its soft with air bubbles. If I poke my finger thru the ice the air bubbles inthat spot go away. Their is solid ice under it.. should I flood it?
