question about dealing with the slush

Hi all,

My boys (3 and 6) had their first skate of the year yesterday. The ice wasn't thick enough for me to get on, but I was just as happy seeing them out there. Here is the problem: now that the storm has passed through (Western Mass), I have two inches of slush on top of my ice. I can't get out there and shovel, the ice is too thin. I am thinking of spraying it down - but wanted to consult the experts first. What is my best bet here? Thanks all.

Do you have a roof rake? Can use that to pull the slush from the middle of the rink out to the boards, then shovel it off from there.

Thanks guys. I am going to wait it out and let it freeze, then put a couple of coats on tomorrow night when we enter a colder pattern for a while. Thanks again, it is nice knowing there are people to talk with about this stuff who don't think I am crazy.
