Aw, man! No fair! (Good for you, though.)

Here in Cleveland, the 7-day forecast is for highs in the mid- to upper 30s (F, of course), lows in the mid- to upper 20s. Would probably be decent (if slightly wet) skating weather if we had any ice to do it on. I think we had skatable ice for one day before we hit a high near 60F that melted it all -- and that one day was one we were on the road for league games from 7:30 am till 5:00 pm. I should have forced everyone to strap on skates -- tired or not! Debating whether to hold out for a late freeze or just give it up and plant some pansies.

Enjoy the ice all the more knowing that there are folks green with envy!

Finally, cooler night time temps are now headed to Minnesota. Although we have been in the 40's here too, the night time temps have allowed the sheet to repair itself each night. The only problem I'm seeing is evaporation. Without cool enough temps to flood I haven't been able to add anything for over two weeks now. Tuesday we are supposed to drop below 20 and I will try to get it back up to snuff then. Hopefully this PIA winter will actually arrive still......

The weather man didn't lie! I got the rink repaired the night before last with a fresh 1" flooding and last night after work/school the work paid off, me and my 8 year old spent about two hours skating, passing and shooting. Extended forecasts look like we will get a solid week or two of beautiful conditions in Minnesota and I honestly can't wait, we haven't had but a handful of good days it's about time.....
