Is it the light weight blue or the small one?

Our organization uses a mix of the lightweight blue pucks and black pucks for the young kids (U8). I love everything about ADM, the cross-ice games, the new practice formats...but I'm not sure I'm sold on the blue pucks. And it has nothing to do with the color or the weight, as I understand using a smaller, lighter object (like other sports do) makes sense. My issue with the blue pucks is that they do. not. glide. They're not heavy enough. Kids will skate around with them and as soon as some snow builds up, the blue pucks stop every 5 feet. They just don't have the weight to glide along the ice. For that reason, I prefer the black pucks. For shooting practice, fine, blue works. But for actual gameplay or stickhandling drills, I like the black ones.

We use regular black pucks in our organization for that exact reason. Due to the blue pucks not being as heavy, they don't behave like a puck should once there is a little snow on the ice. Kind of like when you leave your practice pucks in the house and take em to the rink warm, only worse.

Thanks guys! Makes sense to restrict the blue to shooting practice.
