Does anyone have any good refernce material for getting one of these things started? Its too late for this year, but I want to get something started for next winter that has the participation/blessing of local council?
As an aside, do you guys really use those "pond hockey" nets? I've been to a few tournamets this winter ( as a spectator) but never seen anyone use anything other than a regular hockey net!

That must be an American thing, never seen nets like those before. All the tourneys I've seen people prepping for always seem to be with regular hockey nets. I'll bet those keep the scores low!!
I'll keep an eye out for your blog. I want to start/resurrect something up where i am in Uxbridge. We have probably a dozen ponds in town and it would make an interesting tourney with different venues in the same area!! Plus the ice gets quite thick. My pond still has 4 inches of ice aven after this last week of warmish weather!
