Thanks guys, and Joe, I had the rink all set at one point with the correct water depth, but with the weather we've had every single day before a cold snap we had a lot of snow dumped on us and it turned to slushy weak ice, so twice I had to hand break it and throw it out to get some good strong ice ...

We lost our ice today, atleast my boy was able to skate for an hour yesterday. if February is anything like the last two months we're in deep trouble here...

That is awesome! I will be trying that IF we ever get some snow and cold temps again...

My money would be on Datsyuk. Getting a chance to watch him in every game he plays in, as far as the total package hockey player goes, in my opinion there isn't anyone in NHL better.

True, but Pavel isn't in a position where he has to do that, but thats not to say he couldn't. I just think if both of them were in the same position, I would take Pav hands down.

I feel your pain. My son was able to skate for one hour last week. I could of bought a sheet of ice cheaper at the local rink for one hour of skating. If by some miracle we get to skate on it again, great! But I've given up the dream of getting any type of regular use out of it this year...

This will be our 2nd year going to the U.P. Pond Hockey Championship. Last year was a total blast and I expect this year to be even better now that we understand all the rules and what not and we should have better ice too! Anyone else going?

I am a die hard Wings fan, my son plays (mites), and I play in beer leagues and I agree with a lot of what you said. I have already made the decision to stop going to any games this season and I'm going to try and do the same for next season, and I will not support the NHL by buying any sort of merc...
