Re: What I wouldn't give.....

On the plus side, I do have two pond hockey goals completed. Just need to seal them and they will be ready when (and if) we can get on the pond.

Outdoor Classic Coming Up!!

I am really looking forward to this one. But it sounds like even the NHL is not getting much cooperation from the Outdoor Hockey Gods. Here's hoping they have better luck than I so far this year.

Anyone else planning on sitting around with a cold one for this game??

Quandry

Ok, as I type this Wisconsin is getting it's first decent snow storm along with the first good below freezing cold spell. The snow is supposed to let up late tonight/early Friday morning. My question is: Should I get the snow blower down to the pond tonight or wait until after work on Friday to snow...

The Pond

How I spent my weekend. :)

First time I tried flooding and it was a learning experience. You know you are a hockey parent when you brush off the strange looks you get when you ask the guy at the hardware store for garden hose in mid-January.

Re: What's your "must have" rink tool?

After this weekend, I would have to say a big pair of water-proof chemical gloves. I will never attempt to flood the pond in below freezing temp without them again!!.

Re: What's your "must have" rink tool?

Yooper - Do you fill that barrel outside of the rink area??? I would think that if you filled it on the actual skating surface that it would melt somewhat into the surface while filling up ( or am I wrong?) Or do you fill it off to the side? And then do you just roll it over to pour it out? Interest...

Re: Pond Hockey Goal

Do you seal your pond hockey goals with any water sealer?? Just curious....

I like the idea of the rubber matting!!

Re: Time to throw in the towel...

Yes, it has been (and appears that it will continue to be) a rough year for outdoor hockey. We are in the middle of a cold snap here now but temps are to be back in the upper 30's by Monday. We are all at the mercy of the Pond Hockey Gods. While it is frustrating, I am looking at this year as a time...
