Two ideas: 1. You can buy some sort of mesh netting or plastic fencing & support it with stakes, 2x4s, etc. I'm guessing it would be easy enough to fasten the netting/fencing to the back of the Nicerink boards with twine. That should catch the pucks. 2. Buy a few 4x8 sheets of cheap plywood &...

Belated thanks for the responses. I wound up going with 3/4" boards. I think I'd stick to 1/2" if I could do it over again, just to make them a little lighter to move around. I got my first skate in tonight. 11/29 was the first skate last year.

It's good enough. I bought all the pieces to make a rink rake last year, but the hose by itself worked just fine.

How thick are the plates? I'd imagine they're at least 1/16" thick, so you should be fine.
