Finally we're skating again..... just finished a skate with the boys.

The surface still needs some work but at least we're skating.

Same here - our 44 x 40 is no big enough!!

When you removed the snow you also removed the water that the snow had soaked up. Do you have ice outside the rink? If you don't than you most likely don't have a leak.

No leak --> flood again
Leak --> try to find it / fix it / flood again

I agree with kevmac - flood now. Make ice at night and lose some during the warm days. You'll slowly gain ice until the real cold arrives.
