if our ice surface is a lil snowy or skate marked up pretty good we'll try and use some hot or at least warm water to resurface. we think it helps to melt in a lil bit and bond to the existing ice. it tends to freeze a lil faster too. but cold water works pretty good if we're cleaning it up for the ...

No Xmas skating this year, at least not outside. but it looks like the week between xmas and new years will be ripe for ice-making. highs in the 20's and lows in the teens. hope to get it filled and skateable by new years then. Will be a good way to spend my two weeks of vacation.

Max prefered Temp for filling

Was just wondering if anyone had any experience or idea as to what the max average air temp has to be before they'll start filling. Last year it got cold fast and i filled and it turned out perfect. This year, i'm getting tired of waiting. Its been middle thirties almost 40 and cloudy during the day...

I'm terribly impatient, but im gonna wait. Two week forecast is calling for middle 30's and low's around 20 and some teen's mixed in there too for a few days. thanks for the advice.
