Fill Water

One thing I have been kicking around is source of water. I am on well water so I would like to avoid filling the entire rink from that source.

I have a pool and was wondering if that would be a good source of water when I go to drain next fall. Any thoughts?

Re: Fill Water

Those are all valid points I have been kicking around as well. I have an 18x36 in ground pool and I probably drop 4-6inches of water which is a great start.

I would imagine I could half close the pool in September/October then drain when ready to fill. Just throw the idea around in my head.

Re: New construction

Yeah we are thawing out the next week or so. That was my hopes to slap it together.

I was thinking about using the brackets with wood boards to keep cost down. What do you use 2x10 minimum?

Re: New construction

I am going to be doing slope measurements in the next couple days. I just got the supplies needed to do so. I believe we will be having a little warm up so I am hoping to get this going.

Re: New construction

Ok slopes are down. Deepest corner appears to be 9.5". I am a little torn do for board sizes (12, 14, 16, 18). I am going plywood. Other thing I am trying to work out is bracing. Do I go Nice RInk, Iron Sleek, something else? I like Iron Sleek for the price point. Any other ideas? I am going to...

Re: New construction

After much review I am going Iron Sleek. I think it works best for my setup.

Now for the plywood, do you go pressure treated or not? I would like to paint it eventually.
