Hello everyone, I am Tim from Holyoke,MA and I am excited to be here and am counting down the days till the water around here freezes into ice.

At least you got a few skates in. It is in the 20's at night here in MA but its up in the 40s every day and it looks like its going to be 50 on thursday with rain. Its seeming like the ponds will never freeze.

I have light UA long sleeve on with a t shirt and sweatshirt over it and finally a jersey. You warm up pretty fast skating around.

Im with you on that one, its even warmer in MA.

Now I thought this would be a great way to resurface the local pond but last year I made the mistake of testing ice thickness by drilling a small hole in the ice. Well that hole drew up a lot of water that never froze so we ended up losing half our our skating surface to standing water. Im not sure ...

I like the fact that locations are listed, with a community spread so far over the map it is nice to know where people are when they are talking about weather or ice conditions.

I like the avatar idea, I would use one.

If the cold weather gets here...

Here in MA it looks like I might get my first skate in by the end of the week. About 4 days of sub freezing weather is moving in and I hope to hit the ice thursday or friday before it melts again next weekend.

Looks great! I wish I had the room to make a backyard rink, but im ok with skating on ponds for now.
