Joe from WI

We are pond hockey players in our neighborhood and this year I am planning on doing a better job of maintaining the ice, hoses have been bought, the "Home-zoni" is under construction and the cold weather is finally arriving this week. Life is good!

Great website....very informative!

Resurfacing - Water temps

Okay, this year I will be dragging the hose down to the pond and just using our regular outdoor spigot to resurface. This is a cold water spigot but I have heard that warm water is better to use. Re: Resurfacing - Water temps

Yeah, I am curious to see how that turns out.

Also interested if you have any issues with the hose freezing up faster with the warm water as opposed to the cold, as I heard that is the case.

Good luck!

Re: First skate last night!

Jealous as well. Here in Wisconsin we had temps in the 20's for a couple of days and the pond was coming along nicely (nice smooth black ice) and now we are back in the forties with rain coming.........ughhhhhhhhhh.....

The Pond Hockey Gods are mocking me!! :)

Re: Tips or tricks for maintaining and making a rink on a La

I feel your pain. We had a patch shoveled off on the pond for hockey and some teenage ice-fisherman snuck in and drilled holes right on THAT patch!!!! Messed it all up.....

All for some bluegills the size of cell phones.......

Re: Finally cold in New England...

I walked out on the pond this morning and it seems really good. Even though we are supposed to get back up above freezing later this week, I think I am dragging the hose down tonight and flooding an area to even it out and we are finally going to give it a shot. I don't think I can wait any longer!!...
