1st Timer from Plymouth, Ma

Hey There, first timer here. We have a decent sized pond behind our house but my boys (Ages 6,4,2) want there own rink in the backyard so I'm giving it a go. No more than a 4" drop in elevation from end to end. Using plywood for the boards, heavy duty white poly tarp for the liner and have some...

Can't see Intro Post?

I posted an intro about a week ago but it was never posted? Did I do something wrong?

Small Rip on the bottom of the liner-Help!

Hi. Guys! So rink construction went awesome dropping the liner in no problem, now I started filling as cold weather is on the way and everything was going great until I noticed on my shallow end the liner looked wet underneath. I noticed a small 1" tear in the liner, guessing it was from being ...

First Timer in Plymouth, Ma.

Here's my first attempt at a rink. Made sure I added bracing every 2 feet and every foot in my deep corner. Still have the small tear issue but the deep freeze has finally set in. The one thing I realized after the fact was no inner boards to absorb the pucks when there bouncing around (don't want t...

Is it a bad thing if..

I went on our rink for the first time with my son and I'm already planning out next years build!! I haven't been that happy to be skating in a longtime. He LOVED it, we had a blast. I learned so much for this site so a HUGE thank you to everybody! Definitely stepping up my game next year but for now...

Re: Is it a bad thing if..

Jeez, that dwarfs our rink. It's only 18x32 but next year definitely gonna go the full length of the yard which I'm guessing is 60+ and width of 40+. My kids begged me to go on it again tonight after dinner and it's only 15 degrees but they didn't care! I'm just happy they are happy!!

Crack

Ok soooo here's my problem that I'm now obsessing about. Skated today as the rink is frozen solid temps have been close to 0 for a few days. Skated today with my boy and then again tonight. I figured I'd clean it up for him tonight and resurface it. When I started resurfacing with warm water things ...
