The kids have been out daily on the rink while enjoying their break from school. The Zamboni has been running daily to keep up the ice surface smooth. Hot water is the trick!
If your rink is in the shade you're probably OK with a green liner. However if it is mainly in the sun then I would reccomend changing to a white liner if you still have that option. The darker color underneath will attract heat from the sun's rays and shorten the length of your rink in the spring. ...
I have found that using cold water makes an ice layer that does not really "stick" to the rink and can flake off with aggressive skating. The colder the air temperature the worse this is. I now use only hot water and do this repeatedly in layers to build up ice. Another benefit of using ho...
