I plan to fill the gaps with packed snow. Do you think it's enough?

I also plan to flood my liner gradually, let it freeze and add another layer the next day.

yes there are rebars supporting to boards, there's at least 12" in the ground.

I'm guessing the water should reach about 3 to 4 inches above the bottom of the first 2x10.

And it's on the cheap side at around 100$ to build.

Just a quick question, is there any tricks to avoid empty space between the liner and the boards, especially in the corners or should I just take care to make nice folds?

It's where the hose was during the fill so the ice was thinner. Just didn't want to kids to break the ice.

It's fine now, we skated for the first time last night.

So, money is short this year and I didn't get a new liner. I used the one from last year, seemed good enough but I had the hose filling for like 12 hours, it filled for a while but it didn't move for the last 4 or 5 hours. It's leaking for sure.
