Let it sit and ride it out. As others have said, rain is your friend in a thaw. You just may end up with better ice than you started with. Good luck,

Here in CT, I am not sure we ever freeze solid so you can definitely walk/skate before it is solid. Also, I get some seeping on the sides for a good while, and as long as its not severe, it doesn't stop the kids from skating. Just go easy and see how it goes. Good luck and enjoy the new rink!

Don't do it. You will have an uneven slab and it will crack. I know this because we had a pesky leak one year and after a month, this is what happens. Here in CT, we never really freeze solid and it isn't that much of a problem. You either have to just put up with seeping water or... what we do is l...

Main advantage to doing a liner, more reliable, easier maintenance and I would think, set up (I can't imaging shoveling all that snow to make the banks!) longer skate season. Longer skate season is enough reason for me!
