Two years ago I bought an 18" squeegee at Home Depot. I skate around with it at about a 45 degree angle clearing the ice. The more snow and ice you can get off, the smoother the ice is after you water it. Works great! "Keep your sticks on the ice!"

50 degrees in Chicago today and with cold weather and snow in the forecast it was time to put down my liner and fill it with water. Yes, its January 11th. and I was wearing a sweatshirt to finish my rink. We hope it stays cold enough to get some skating and hockey in before the next melt. My family ...

Suburb of Chicago, I filled my rink on Wednesday and today it still is not frozen. So I cant get on it to remove the snow and put water on it. Very frustrating! Keep your stick on the ice!

Cold in Chicago! Finally after all the hard work and waiting for cold weather, my kids got to skate today. Looking a little rusty but seeing them skating and having fun was great. Still a little water underneath on the deep end so I couldn't skate with them today, maybe in a day or to. Don't give up...

Chicago! The last of my ice should be gone tomorrow. We skated as much as we could for the week or so that we had ice. Now it will take a miracle to get it frozen again. Still it was worth it to see my kids skating and having fun. Keep your stick on the ice!

Played a little hockey last night with my 11 year old daughter. This is the first time I have played since ACL reconstruction surgery Last winter. It felt Awesome, but a little sore today!
It's great to see how fast Backyard-Hockey is growing. I enjoy being a part of it! Great job Joe!

I use 6 mil. clear plastic for my 30' x 20' rink and it seems to work fine!
